Thinking about becoming a Governor or Trustee?
Serving as a governor or trustee is a rewarding way to make a meaningful difference to the lives of children and young people, while supporting schools and settings to thrive within a strong and ethical trust.
Governors and trustees play a vital role in providing strategic leadership, constructive challenge and oversight. They help ensure that schools and settings are well‑led, financially sound and focused on delivering high‑quality education for their communities.
You do not need to work in education to get involved. We welcome people from a wide range of backgrounds and professions, including finance, HR, estates, law, education, and community leadership. What matters most is a commitment to our values, an interest in education, and a willingness to contribute time, skills and thoughtful oversight.
What you can expect
- A supportive induction and ongoing training
- Opportunities to use and develop your skills
- Collaboration with experienced professionals and fellow volunteers
- The chance to influence positive outcomes for pupils and staff
